Manuel Mendive is an Afro-Cuban artist born in 1955 in Havana, Cuba. His multi-media work reflects his views on Cuban religion, philosophy, ethnography, art and dance. His work is permanently on display at the National Fine Arts Museum in Cuba, as well as other national and international public and private collections. Mendive has exhibited at the Center of Arts of Havana in Cuba in 1964, the National Museum in Tanzania in 1975, the Galeria Nesle in Paris in 1989, the Museum of Modern Art in San Diego in 1991, as well as many others in Yugoslavia, Brazil, and Spain.
